Joy Celebration Choir
This choir sings mostly unison and 2-part anthems and practices Tuesday nights at 7:00. Rehearsals are informal and fun and a good way to meet new people and make new friends. Joy Celebration Choir usually sings at the 9:30 Liturgical Service and, occasionally, at special events. No audition is required. Just show up, ready to join in fellowship and praise, learn new music, celebrate old favorites and prepare for worship.
Joy Praise is a wonderful small ensemble that sings primarily at the 11:30 worship service. Guitars, piano and close harmonies are their trademark. Their focus on praise and worship choruses and songs brings a focus of gratitude and awe to the service. Joy Praise also represents Joy MCC at community events. They rehearse on Sunday mornings prior to the 11:30 service and welcome new members by audition only. Joy Praise practices once per week as determined by the group.
Ranan is the Hebrew word for joyful singing as in Psalm 33.1: “Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous”! Joy MCC is currently recruiting singers for Ranan, a newly forming singing ensemble, which will perform all types of music from classics, to spirituals, to contemporary anthems. This group will sing in 2,3 and 4 parts. This ensemble will provide special music for all three services at various times and for special events. An “every Sunday” commitment is not needed, but a brief, non-threatening private audition is required for membership. Are you interested in learning new songs and in developing your talents as a musician in God’s church? Come, join, sing joyfully! Rehearsal times will be determined as group is formed.
Every Second Sunday, the Evening Worship Service at 7:00 p.m. is devoted to a special musical experience. Upcoming concerts and programs include “Men of Praise” (Joy’s talented male performers) in July, “Women of Spirit” (our women musicians) in August, an Old-Fashioned Southern Gospel “Homecoming” in September, a full evening of Joy Praise and our Christmas celebration later in the year. More events will be scheduled—so check back with us often.
Do you like to sing solos, duets, trios, or quartets? There are lots of opportunities for you to participate in the Music Program at Joy MCC. We’re hoping that you will come and share your very special talents with all of us at Joy MCC.
